Frequently Asked
Questions
How much will it screen?
For most of our BAV-RS screening bucket range, the very short answer is; approximately 4 to 5 times the weight of the carrier excavator, per hour. This is at the largest, coarsest output grade. It can be faster than this in optimum conditions.
For more detail, please read further FAQ notes on output size and feed material.
What is the output grade size?
Every BAV-RS screening bucket comes, as standard, with 3 output grade sizes:
- 0 to 50mm approx.
- 0 to 25mm approx.
- 0 to 12.5mm approx.
Feed material quality & cleanliness
For these types of screening bucket, the ideal is good, clean, dry material.
Material with high moisture content may clog, or may not be able to be processed at finer output grades.
Excavator auxiliary hydraulic requirements
This part is very simple. Always run on 2-way circuit not hammer circuit.
Flow: The attachments are designed to be able to take the maximum flow of their respective carrier excavator class. the more flow, the faster the jaw moves.
Pressure: The attachments are designed to be able to take the maximum pressure of their respective carrier excavator class. ensure your machine's circuits have not been re-set or de-rated. This will lead to poor performance.
On older machines, check the condition of hydraulic oil and also the pressure and flow performance of the pumps. Other digging functions can still work, even when pumps are worn out.
Why use a BAV-RS mini excavator-mounted screening bucket? The trommel drum design works for both fine materials like soil or sand, but also hard materials like aggregates. As well as producing and cleaning topsoil, the attachment can be used to sort fines from rubble before crushing, as well as grading crushed aggregate.
